It has been another banner year for The Garden Club of LBI where awards are concerned. We were thrilled to be the recipients of three awards at the 2026 Garden Club of New Jersey annual meeting.
First was The Woodbridge Garden Club Trophy for An outstanding program in Garden Therapy. This was awarded for our Senior Services Program where Garden Club members get together with local senior groups to teach them about flower arranging and guide them in creating floral arrangements that they can take home.
Next was The Jane R. Bersch Trophy for An Outstanding Garden Tour. This was given to us for our Outdoor Living and Garden Tour of 2025. This is our second largest fundraiser of the year and it was wonderful to receive this recognition.
Finally, we were awarded the Presidents Award. Susan Berdahl, President of the Garden Club of New Jersey. The state president chooses a theme for her term and gives recognition to 3 clubs each year who submit a program that best matches the presidents goals. In addition to the award itself, each club is given a grant in the amount of $1,000.n
